After filming the interview shots

I have filmed the interview section shots at the weekend, I have 30 minutes worth of footage that I have edited down to 3 minutes. I am going to combine the extra shots I have edited out of my documentary into a blooper/extra film. I think the interview shots went well as we did them all within two days of filming. Also, the acting and dramatic effect I wanted to portray went as I wanted it to go.

Before filming the locations shots:

I am going to start filming the location shots this weekend, I have chosen to film at a old prison- looking place near me as Bedford prison still hasn't got back to me. In terms of what I am filming this weekend; I am going to film the whole building in a long shot, close ups, low angle and the surroundings e.g. the forestry area around it and the gates. If the permission is granted at Bedford Prison, I am going to film aerial shots and long shots of the prison building, medium shots of signs, close ups and diverse angles. For filming this weekend, I am going to use a steadicam to create smooth fluid shots.

Evaluation Q1

This clip from Piers Morgan: Killer Women presents its use of commentary narrative layered with tense music leading up to a dramatic moment. This highlights how the traditional use of sound in crime documentaries does slightly contrast as they lack a mixture of music and sound effects. I challenge traditional conventions of a crime documentary through my use of costume as I decided to use a light grey jumper for the prisoner costume. This differs from the usual costumes of a blue, white or orange jumpsuit commonly seen in popular documentaries e.g. Making Of A Murderer, Interview With A Serial Killer, Who Took Johnny.
