Amy: Amy Winehouse documentary

Amy: Amy Winehouse It is a 2015 British compliation and musical/biography documentary film about the life and death of British singer- songwriter Amy Winehouse. The film covers Winehouse's life and her struggles with substance abuse, both before and after her career blossomed, and which eventually caused her death. A once-in-a-generation talent, Amy Winehouse was a musician that captured the world's attention. A pure jazz artist in the most authentic sense- she wrote and sung from the heart using her musical gifts to analyse her own problems. The combinations of her raw honesty and supreme talent resulted in some of the most unique and adored songs of the modern era. The documentary shows the songwriter's life from early childhood, to her music career, troubled relationships, self harm, bulimia, controversial media attention and downfall with her drug and alcohol addiction. I think this camera shot represents the happy, healthy and full of energy person Amy was, as s...

Production update

Document what you have done and when as you film/edit supported with pictures/ screenshots/ snippets of footage. After filming the interview shots I have filmed the interview section shots at the weekend, I have 30 minutes worth of footage that I have edited down to 3 minutes. I am going to combine the extra shots I have edited out of my documentary into a blooper/extra film. I think the interview shots went well as we did them all within two days of filming. Also, the acting and dramatic effect I wanted to portray went as I wanted it to go. Before filming the locations shots: I am going to start filming the location shots this weekend, I have chosen to film at a old prison- looking place near me as Bedford prison still hasn't got back to me. In terms of what I am filming this weekend; I am going to film the whole building in a long shot, close ups, low angle and the surroundings e.g. the forestry area around it and the gates. If the permission...

Amy Winehouse documentary: 5 shot analysis

This is a medium close up shot and a wide angle view capturing her substantial fan base on a worldwide level. The narrator is talking about how she tries to disappear from her life which could imply through her substance addiction and abuse which correlates with the shot as it shows her drinking. Amy looks slightly disoriented/dazed which matches the narration perfectly mediating her in a very negative light. In this shot, the lighting is very dark and dull which is unusual because when she is performing the lighting should be bright and vibrant. The mise en scene is the crowds of people in the background which highlights Amy's pure popularity through her talent. I feel as though Amy is the focus in this shot as the dark lighting makes her boldly stand out against the crowd. The shot slowly fades out as the background soundtrack of Amy quietens and fades which is very effective as it increases the intensity of audiences sympathy and sadness for her. This is a extreme close up...
